50 Outstanding SMEs Recognised At The E50 Awards

A total of 50 outstanding Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) were recognised at the Enterprise 50 (E50) Awards 2026, organised by SME Corp. Malaysia, an agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP). The award recipients were celebrated at the E50 Awards Gala Dinner on 16 October 2026, officiated by YB Encik Steven Sim Chee Keong, Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives.

The E50 Awards is a prestigious programme that recognises the achievements of Malaysia’s top 50 SMEs. The key eligibility criteria for participation are as follows:

  • Meet the official definition of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs);

  • Achieve a minimum three-star rating under the SME Competitiveness Rating for Enhancement (SCORE) programme;

  • Not be listed on Bursa Malaysia;

  • Possess audited financial statements for the latest three financial years; and

  • Subsidiaries are not eligible if their parent companies are participating.

Since its introduction in 1997, the E50 Awards, themed “Celebrating the Spirit of Malaysian Entrepreneurship,” has earned recognition from industry players and the business community for more than two decades, establishing itself as a symbol of credibility and SME excellence. To date, SME Corp. Malaysia has recognised 843 award recipients, of whom 67 have successfully secured listings on the capital market.

In his speech, YB Encik Steven Sim highlighted that, as part of the Government’s efforts to strengthen Malaysia’s business ecosystem, the E50 Awards programme has been identified as one of the key programmes under KUSKOP’s Hebatkan Perniagaan Malaysia (HPM) initiative, which he personally introduced.

He further emphasised the Government’s continued commitment to strengthening Malaysian businesses, particularly through Budget 2027, as announced by the Prime Minister. With allocations for MSMEs increasing to RM57 billion, the Budget reinforces support through greater access to financing, reduced operating costs and expanded market opportunities. This positions Budget 2027 as a budget dedicated to MSMEs and 2027 as Malaysia’s Year of MSMEs.

Meanwhile, commenting on this year’s programme, YBrs. Encik Rizal bin Dato’ Nainy, Chief Executive Officer of SME Corp. Malaysia and Chairman of the E50 Organising Committee, said:

“This year, we received a total of 160 nominations, marking the highest number of submissions in the history of the E50 Awards. We also welcomed a new line-up of strategic partners, further enhancing the prestige of the programme.

“On behalf of SME Corp. Malaysia, I would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to Baker Tilly Malaysia as the E50 Awards Auditor and Berjaya Sompo Insurance Berhad as the Main Sponsor, as well as Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank), Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad (CGC), P2P Nusa Kapital Sdn.
